Immigrant Cook-Off Web Show Wins Silver at 2024 Anthem Awards in Education, Arts & Culture
Washington, DC – Unite We Dream’s first chef web show, No boundaries, only flavors! Chosen by an esteemed jury – including Mona Chalabi (Data Editor, The Guardian); Abigail E. Disney (Founder, Peace is Loud); Kwame Rose (activist, artist, writer); Andraéa LaVant (disability-focused activist, LaVant Consulting); By the way – be awarded with silver non-commercial division Education, art and culture on 3rd Annual National Anthem Awards.
This Anthem award follows a recent victory NBJF! as Best Food and Drink Campaign at the 2023 Shorty Impact Awards.

Taking a page from the playbook of web series pioneers like Issa Rae (Unreliable) and Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chavez (gentified), the UWD immigrant community has launched a new cooking competition series called No boundaries, only flavors! on YouTube April 20, 2023. [TRAILER] The four-episode series features youth with immigrant identities, including undocumented immigrants, DACA recipients, refugees, and first- and second-generation immigrants, from across the country as they compete to cook a family recipe.
Produced by United We Dream, No boundaries, only flavors! Unlocks the power of food to share immigrant stories of joy, humor and connection that the media often ignores. In its debut, the series was covered by NBC News, Remezcla and NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, among others.
