After directing the critically acclaimed Thor: Ragnarok, Taika was brought back to the MCU to direct Thor: Love and Thunder. In a previous interview with Deadline, Taika said he had “no interest” in directing Thor: Ragnarok and only took on the project for financial reasons. Ragnarok was a huge success, but the same success could not be repeated with Love and Thunder. He told Business Insider that he will not be involved in Thor 5 after the film’s release in 2022.
Taika’s last directorial effort ‘Next Goal Wins’ premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and is scheduled to be released in Indian theaters on February 2nd.
Taika previously won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for the 2019 film Jojo Rabbit.
