Gwan Hee, who broke her silence on their post-broadcast status, recently confirmed what many viewers suspected, “We’re not a couple.” The professional basketball player, who instantly became the talk of the entire Inferno and was smitten all season long before leaving with science student Hye Seon, drew mixed reactions from fans after admitting he wasn’t dating her.

Lee Gwan Hee says she is not dating Choi Hae Seon
After Choi Hee Seon announced a hiatus from social media due to feeling pressure, Lee Gwan Hee posted a video addressing dating rumors with a Singles Inferno contestant. He made it clear that they were not dating. She said: “First of all, I want to tell you that we are not a couple. “To be honest, after the show we kept in touch and saw each other during work meetings, but I need to be in a relationship where I see someone every day.”
Turns out the reason was exactly what fans expected: a long-distance relationship. Hye Son has previously mentioned her plan to pursue higher studies in England.

Gwan Hee added, “Realistically, Hee Seon has to go to England soon, and I have to go back to Changwon and focus on training, so I didn’t think we would be a couple. So we naturally became a relationship where we just ask each other from time to time.”
Denying all rumors that he had given her flowers on her birthday, she said: “I have never been to that florist and I have never given her flowers.”

After the confessions of both sides, with Choi Hee Seon’s honest answers and Lee Gwan Hee’s direct confession, fans decided to stop watching the dating show, finding it unrealistic.
