According to Pankaj Tripathi, many people come to him to take selfies and sometimes they don’t even see his work at all, but they get to know him through memes and reels that continue to trend on social media. He says he knows performance.
The actor, whose character Kaleen Bhaiya in Prime Video series Mirzapur first became a viral meme, credits the public for making him a popular face.
“I just say what I feel. I’m happy if people connect with it. Thanks to Janta (Public), I became popular with memes and reels. I’m a hero to the audience and They made me a popular actor. I don’t know anything about marketing either. Earlier, I used to attend interviews and events in casual clothes, but now I dress up,” Tripathi told PTI told.

Tripathi, who hails from Belsand village in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, narrated the events of her birthplace and reiterated her popularity on social media and how it has nothing to do with her films.
“I recently met two boys in the village. They came up to me and said they wanted to take a picture with me. ‘Which of my movies or shows have you seen? ?” I asked. They said, “We haven’t seen any of them, but we’ve seen your memes.” They were like, ‘Nice to meet you,'” he recalled.

“My feeling about movies is that they should be rational, commercial, and have a wide impact. We make movies with the intention of reaching a wider audience. I feel like ‘Oh My God 2’ is a smart film. It has a very solid subject matter on sex education and it did well at the box office and on OTT,” Tripathi said.
“We often learn a lot when we are told to be light-hearted. On the other hand, the moment we get serious, we can lose interest. But my interest as an audience member is in independent films. ” he added.
Tripathi said his upcoming film ‘Main Atal Hoon’ on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been made in a smart and engaging manner.
The biographical drama will be directed by Ravi Jadhav, the director of Nataran and Balgandharva fame.
“This is the story of Atal Ji’s life and also the story of India’s journey since independence, how elections are held, how voting is done and how society has changed. .The aim of this biopic is to provide entertainment and at the same time serve as an inspiration,” the actor said.
The actor also said that he did not feel “confident” when he first arrived on the sets of Main Atar Hoon.
“Regardless of the role, whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, I’m never confident on the first day of shooting. I’m always thinking, ‘What should I do?’ What should I do? For a couple of days I was having trouble finding the character’s soul.

“We were aware and conscious of that, but our biggest objective was to bring out Atal Ji’s personality on the big screen. The film is a biopic, so we wanted to make sure the facts were correct. I had to check,” he said.
“I think we need to represent people on screen as honestly as possible. We are human beings, we have good points and flaws, and how that should be represented on screen. ” he added.
