“Godzilla x Kong” movie postponed in theaters, “Mickey 17” delayed – The Hollywood Reporter

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire It was announced on Tuesday that Legendary and Warner Bros. It will be released in theaters two weeks earlier than expected.

The fifth installment in the MonsterVerse series will now open on March 29 instead of April 12.

Godzilla x Kong It takes on the history previously occupied by Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho Mickey 17, whose release was delayed due to production shifts following the strike. It is expected that a new date for this feature will be announced soon. (This shift isn’t entirely surprising, as there hasn’t been a trailer for the film yet.)

The latest feature film entry to Warner Bros./Legendary Entertainment’s portfolio MonsterVerse Events follow Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), where fans got to see two pinnacle kaiju finally battle it out for supremacy. A trailer for the film appears Godzilla x Kong Delve deeper into the mysteries of the Hollow Earth and uncover the threat of the Titans that will necessitate an alliance between Godzilla and Kong.

Godzilla vs. Kong Director Adam Wingard returns to the director’s chair, reuniting with returning cast members Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kylie Hotel. Dan Stevens joins the series as lead… New Empire.

Franchise is also included Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). There have also been two television entries in the anime series Skull Island (2023) released on Netflix, and the live-action series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023) released on Apple TV+.

Based on Edward Ashton’s novel of the same name, Mickey 17 Stars Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo. Bong penned the adapted screenplay based on the book mickey 7 By Edward Ashton.

The book, published in early 2022, focuses on a man known to be expendable on a mission to colonize a distant planet. Each colony houses a crew member who takes on the most dangerous jobs on the mission – jobs that will almost certainly lead to their death. However, their memories are backed up and they are restored to clone bodies upon their death.
