Back to the Tower: Dimitri Dimitrov Returns to Hollywood’s Star-Studded Restaurant

At the iconic Tower Bar, everything old is truly new again. After spending six years at Jeff Klein’s San Vicente Bungalows luxury resort, Dimitri Dimitrov is making a grand return this week to his roots as the butler of Tower Bar, the famous celebrity hotspot at Klein’s Sunset Tower Hotel. This marks a homecoming for the legendary 75-year-old, who first worked at the Tower Bar 20 years ago.

The Man Behind the Magic: A Legend Returns

Dimitrov played a pivotal role in shaping the Tower Bar’s reputation as Hollywood’s A-list hangout. Klein couldn’t be more excited about his return: “Dimitri was instrumental in making Tower Bar what it is, and our regulars are thrilled to have him back.” Those regulars? None other than Jennifer Aniston, Tom Ford, and Elon Musk—the last of whom, fun fact, once convinced Dimitrov to buy Tesla stock in 2010, a move that turned Dimitri into one of L.A.’s quiet millionaires.

While becoming a millionaire thanks to Tesla stock was quite the achievement, Dimitrov insists that his return is all about passion. “It’s historic to be back,” he shared. “At my age, to be asked to return to this iconic hotel—it’s simply incredible!” He’ll be replacing Tower Bar’s previous host, Gissy Wilmot, bringing a touch of old Hollywood glamour back to the venue.

A Star Turn: Dimitrov’s Career Gets the Documentary Treatment

Dimitrov’s illustrious 40-year career in L.A.’s top restaurants is about to be immortalized in a documentary. Directed by Grant Singer, son of famous Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer, the film will chronicle Dimitrov’s journey as one of Hollywood’s most beloved hosts. Grant met Dimitrov as a child, dining at Tower Bar with his father—making this project even more personal.

SVB Expands While Klein Juggles It All

Meanwhile, Jeff Klein is busy expanding the San Vicente Bungalows empire with two new locations: one in Santa Monica, slated for November, and another in New York’s West Village, set to open later this year. To handle the growth, Jaap Doppelt, SVB’s head of membership, will head to Manhattan next month to oversee the East Coast launch. “It’s been a whirlwind,” Klein admits, “but somehow, we’ve managed to get it under control!
