Rohit Shetty says he respects Indian culture, didn’t want to add sex scenes to Indian Police: ‘I don’t want to make my audience uncomfortable’ | Web Series News
Rohit Shetty makes his Prime Video debut with Indian Police Force.
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is entering the digital space with his web series Indian Police Force, which seems to be an extension of his cop universe. While there are no clear restrictions on content on streaming platforms, Rohit had recently said that he did not want to include any sex scenes or even any vulgar hints in his web series.
In a podcast with Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachia, Rohit said that the police in India don’t even have many swear words, barring one or two episodes where it was necessary for the characters to speak like that. “There are some funny words in a few episodes, that’s because the characters are cops, that’s why. Other than that, no sex, no profanity. Our Indian culture is different. We are still highly respected and known for it. Those who do this are not doing anything wrong, but mujhe apni core audience that uncomfortable nahi karna hai. (I don’t want to make my core audience uncomfortable),” he said.

The director shared that he learned the importance of creating family-friendly content after his film Chennai Express. He said, “After the Chennai Express, I was at the airport where a lady came up to me and thanked me. He said: “Thank you very much. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and there are times when I have to do household chores and she wakes up. So I put in Chennai Express. That’s when I heard it.”

Rohit, who has done films like Golmaal, Singham and Sooryanvanshi, added, “When we made OTT, we knew we didn’t want any sex scenes or vulgarity. We didn’t want to overdo it because there is no censorship. I want Soriyavanshi audience to come and watch this show. This discomfort should not be there. “
Indian Police stars Siddharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Shweta Tiwari and Sharad Kelkar. The seven-part series will air on Prime Video from January 19.
