Deadpool 3 To Madame Web: 10 Hollywood movies we can’t wait to watch in 2024

In recent developments in Hollywood, the film industry has had to deal with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, delaying production and pushing back important release dates. Let’s not forget that the Covid-19 pandemic had previously dealt a huge blow to the industry as well. But now we have overcome the problems and are eagerly awaiting the reception of 2024. The new year will also bring with it a large number of exciting films, straddling the worlds of many genres, making movie lovers even more excited. As 2023 comes to a close, let’s take note of some of the most awaited Hollywood movies.

Deadpool 3

Even before its release, updates and glimpses of Deadpool 3 sets have been doing the rounds on the internet. The film is directed by Shawn Levy, and stars Ryan Reynolds alongside famous Wolverine star Hugh Jackman. Although not much is known about the third part, it is expected that the two heroes will unite in focus to defeat a common enemy. Deadpool 3 will premiere on July 26.

Joker: Folie à Deux

After the blockbuster hit Joker, Todd Phillips returns with an even more interesting sequel – Joker: Folie à Deux. While Joaquin Phoenix will once again reprise his role as the psychotic Arthur Fleck aka the Joker, the newest addition to the cast is actress and singer Lady Gaga. She will play Harley Quinn in the film. Joker 2 will hit the big screens on October 4.

Sand Dunes: Part 2

Science fiction visionary director Denis Villeneuve dazzled audiences with 2021’s Dune, a film considered one of cinema’s finest masterpieces. This raises the bar significantly for the follow-up Dune: Part 2, which is scheduled for release on March 15. Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, alongside franchise newcomer Florence Pugh, appear in a teaser video promising a thrilling encounter in the desert. The planet Arrakis, complete with massive sandworms and rival factions.

Inside out 2

With the premiere of Inside Out 2, the long-awaited sequel to the iconic 2015 animated film, Pixar will once again bring its signature style of heart and animation to the big screen. Directed by Kelsey Mann, the film revolves around the many emotions one encounters in life, with the new addition of uncontrolled and erratic anxiety, voiced by Stranger Things star Maya Hawke. Inside Out 2 will be released on June 14.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

At the conclusion of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), the third film in the trilogy of the popular science fiction series, Caesar, the chimpanzee who led the apes to global domination, died. But there’s more to look forward to in Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which is set to hit silver screens on May 24.

Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga

The Mad Max franchise is ready for an adventure with director George Miller’s upcoming thriller Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Starring Queen’s Gambit fame Anya Taylor-Joy and actor Chris Hemsworth, the prequel will highlight Furiosa’s kidnapping and rise into the kingdom. The film is headed to premiere on May 23.

This teen film was a huge hit in 2004. With Lindsay Lohan starring alongside Amanda Seyfried and Rachel McAdams in important roles, the film perfectly documented the school-going phase of a teen, where the concept of “Burnbook” became the norm. Now director duo Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. return for a special performance of Mean Girls with a new cast, set for release on January 12.

Madame Web

The Spiderman spin-off we’ve been waiting for is here. Madame Web, led by SJ Clarkson, stars Fifty Shades Of Gray fame Dakota Johnson. With the power of clairvoyance, she is responsible for protecting three women from danger while uncovering the secrets of her past. Madame Web hits theaters on February 16.

A Quiet Place: Day One

With the powerful performances of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, the A Quiet Place franchise has earned a special place in the hearts of audiences. Featuring Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou, as well as Blunt, the prequel series will take fans of the upcoming horror series back to its roots this summer. It will highlight the beginning of the alien invasion that destroyed the world. A Quiet Place: Day One will be released on June 28.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

In this Monsterverse movie, two rivals – Godzilla and King Kong – form a strange alliance to thwart “a massive, undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and ours.” The most anticipated movies of 2024 are ready to hit theaters on April 12.
