Are Telugu movie ticket prices the same as Hindi movies in the US?
Currently, Salar and Danki are performing very well in America. Salar exceeded $7 million in North America (US + Canada), while Danki exceeded $5 million. But did you know that the ticket price for Dhanki is almost half the price of Salar? Did you know that the footsteps of Dhanki are twice as loud as those of director Prashanth Neel? Why is this so? Why are ticket prices so low for movies starring Shah Rukh Khan, who is said to be the king of foreign countries?
Regarding the same Mythri, Ravi Shankar expressed his opinion. He said most of the revenue for Telugu films is generated in the first weekend, which is why the makers earn profits by charging premium prices for tickets. Further, he said, “Our Telugu diaspora is less compared to Hindi. We need to recover the investment amount and hence the premium price.”
Dil Raju, another top producer in the Telugu industry, said, “Generally, it is said that Hindi films have great potential abroad compared to ours. It has been a huge hit. The number of audiences watching Hindi movies is increasing further. So, if the ticket prices come down, the audience for Bollywood movies could increase.” Dil Raju said. , said Telugu films may also try the same model in the future as the overseas market is slowly improving.
The most important region is probably the North American market. As of now, only event films like ‘Baahubali’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Salar’ are earning huge profits here. So the key here is to focus on higher quality, content-rich movies that can appeal to a wider audience (across languages). In that case, there is no problem even if the ticket price becomes cheaper. Until then, we will need to continue to set high prices.
