Despite being released in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dhanki, the Prabhas-starrer movie managed to dominate at the box office. The SRK starrer was released a day earlier than Salar and has so far earned Rs 140.20 crore in India. Director Sarar is now aiming to surpass the record set by Rajinikanth’s film The Prisoner. The film became the only South Indian film to reach the Rs 600-crore milestone worldwide this year.
Hombale Films, the production company of Salaar, recently announced that it has reduced ticket prices for the film at prominent cinema chains across India. The move is expected to bring in more people in the coming days.
Directed by Prashant Neel, ‘Salar’ also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in important roles.
