Hollywood: “Scream 7” director Christopher Landon exits the film, calling the project a “nightmare”

Director Christopher Landon announced on social media that he had exited “Scream 7” more than a month and a half ago, describing the project as a “nightmare.”

“I think this is the right time to announce my official exit from Scream 7 weeks ago,” Landon wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The tweet also stated: “This will disappoint some and delight others.” It was a dream job, then it turned into a nightmare. My heart breaks for everyone involved. everyone.”

He continued: “I have nothing to add to the conversation except that I hope Wes’s legacy will flourish and rise above the noise of a divided world.” “What he and Kevin (Williamson, who wrote the Scream script) have created is amazing, and I’m honored to have even the briefest moment basking in their glow.”

Landon’s departure from Scream 7 comes one month after Melissa Barrera, who starred in parts five and six of the film, was fired from the film after posting a series of messages on social media amid the war between Israel and Hamas.

Later, it was also reported that Jenna Ortega, who played Barrera’s younger on-screen sister, had also left the project due to a scheduling conflict.
