what is the show about

Indu (Avika Gori) faces family issues due to which her family arranges her marriage to Anand (Nandu). However, his family problems do not end there. Entering Anand’s house, he discovers a series of mysterious events.

Anand’s brother Aarya (Ali Reza) also has a troubled marriage history and an assassination attempt runs in the family. Additionally, there is another subplot surrounding Anand’s brother’s late wife. Each character behaves suspiciously. What really happens at home?

performances

Avika Gore plays the main character, the core of the series, and she does it well. It delivers a refined performance, primarily with facial expressions, without overdoing it, which works effectively. Her screen presence and effortless style add to the appeal of the show. While the character doesn’t offer much scope for a performer like Avika to deliver something truly memorable, she does what the role calls for.

The rest of the cast, including Nandu, Ali Reza, Roopa Lakshmi, etc., do their parts well, but none of them manage to grab attention. They perform conventional performances for roles that are conventionally written

Analysis

Vadhuvu is directed by Poluru Krishna who develops an intriguing main plot. The show starts interestingly and successfully builds interest around the main character, Avika Gori. Admittedly, portrayed by a regular artist, it might not have had the same impact.

The director succeeds in building a high level of suspense, but it feels like a lot is piling up when the revelation, which is the main theme of the series, happens.

Additionally, there is a desperate attempt to make everyone seem suspicious, but the character designs or writing seem ordinary, making it difficult for the audience to root for each character. Apart from Avika, none of the characters manage to capture attention through the writing and acting. However, the positive aspect is that due to keeping the main plot a secret and concise episodes, it remains a watchable show.

Also, repetitive without introducing new ideas to engage the audience, the pace of the show is slow because it doesn’t explore much, and the tense moments are kept at the usual level for a suspenseful plot.

Short duration is the main plus; However, there is a feeling of dissatisfaction because even after seven episodes, the director leaves everything so vague. While it’s important to wrap up a few pieces and leave the rest open for next season, that’s not happening here.

Overall, Vadhuvu has an interesting start which falters but still manages to be a watchable show for the suspense genre lovers.

Music and other departments?

Sriram Maddury’s music and Nagarjuna Thallapal’s voice are seen well. They delivered a borderline result, nothing more than that elevates the show. Ram K Mahesh’s cinematography gives the show its usual visual appeal. Anil Kumar’s editing, meant for short episodes, is sufficient.
