HBO and Max Streaming Home for New A24 Movies – The Hollywood Reporter
It will be Warner Bros. Discovery is the exclusive home of A24’s upcoming slate.
The group and the independent studio announced a multi-year, pay-per-view U.S. production deal that will bring the studio and distributor’s theatrical film slate exclusively to Warner Bros. Pictures. Discovery’s HBO and Cinemax, as well as streaming service Max.
Plus new and upcoming films, including a Sofia Coppola film priscilla, Jonathan Glazer Area of interestAnd Nicolas Cage starring Dream scenariothe deal will also cover titles from A24’s library, including the Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All in OncE, Brendan Fraser starring WhaleAnd the Safadis Uncut gemstones.
Other 2024 versions available under the deal will be Deeks: The musicalthe Talking Heads concert film Stop Logic (2023)And Iron clawwhile upcoming titles such as the love story of bodybuilder Kristen Stewart Love lies bleeding And the Alex Garland action movie Civil war.
Today’s announcement noted that between the existing library and upcoming A24 films, Warner Bros Discovery audiences will “have access to over a hundred A24 titles during the term of the agreement.”
The latest production deal builds on a previous agreement between WBD and A24 that saw more than two dozen A24 titles stream on Max (then HBO Max) starting in August 2022.
A24 previously had an output deal with Showtime which saw A24 air on Showtime channels, as well as its sister streaming platforms. This agreement, signed in 2019, covers theatrical releases until November 1, 2022.
