‘Meghah Kopat’ wins three awards at Indian film festivals

A Bangladeshi film titled ‘Megher Kopat’ has won three awards at India’s Global Independent Film Festival 2023, according to a press release.
The film won ‘Best Foreign Film’, ‘Best Director’ and ‘Raj Kapoor Award’.
The award was handed over to film director Walid Ahmed and producer Afroza Momen at a grand ceremony held in Kolkata, India on December 1, 2023.
This film festival, organized by the Dreamz Cultural Association, was held for the third time and featured over 400 films from all over the world.
More than 70 filmmakers from around the world participated in the festival.
GIFFI was held on December 1 at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, Murali Youth Center, Kolkata.
This year, which marks the 100th birth anniversary of legendary actor and director Raj Kapoor, three films, including Meghaa Kopat, were awarded the Raj Kapoor Award. ‘Megher Kopat’ was released in Bangladeshi cinemas on November 3.
Written and directed by Walid Ahmed, the film also stars Rakib Hossain Evon, Cindy Loring, Sabrina Toni, Afroza Momen, Reza Rahman Rizvi, Rehana Parveen Hashi, Zaman Saif, Raju -Ahsan and others are appearing.
Javed Ali, Aolga, Rupankar Bagki, Afroja Momen, Dilruba Kamal and Anindya Chatterjee have lent their voices to play the songs in the film, which was co-produced by Walid Ahmed and Afroza Momen.
