Salman Khan to star in ‘Zoya’ spin-off film starring Katrina Kaif, but says there is a catch: ‘Tiger will save the day in the climax’ Bollywood News
Salman Khan joked that he could star in a Zoya spin-off film, but if the tables were turned, Katrina Kaif would not be keen on a role with limited screen time.
No Zoya spin-off movie would be complete without her Tiger. Superstar Salman Khan has said that he is totally interested in Katrina Kaif playing the lead role in a solo action film with her spy character Zoya, but with a little addition, he will also be a part of the film.
Yash Raj Films’ Tiger series has Salman playing the title role as a RAW agent while Katrina plays Zoya, a Pakistani spy. The two characters, who first appeared in Kabir Khan’s 2011 film Ek Tha Tiger, are married and continue to fight for their country. Salman and Katrina are currently seen playing fan favorite characters in Tiger 3.

At a press conference to talk about his latest film on Diwali, Salman Khan was asked about his thoughts on a spin-off film featuring Zoya. The superstar said that the film could be about Zoya but will definitely feature his character Tiger as well.
But I think Zoya would be very incomplete without Tiger. So Tiger has to be there and save the day at the climax. Even if he’s not there, there has to be Tiger’s introduction, the phone call (to him), the hook in between. And in the climax, when Zoya needs Tiger, he lands there and they We will make sure that together we can accomplish the mission,” he said.
Salman said the two characters have now become inseparable. The superstar joked that she could be seen in a spin-off film of Zoya, but if the tables were turned, Katrina would not be keen on roles with limited screen time.
“Tiger and Zoya have become so synonymous that I feel empty without Zoya or Zoya without me. Once she does, she’ll come to the interval and then come to climax a little bit. Wo gel nahi payeggi (She won’t be able to accept it). Badate Jayegi as Woh Apna (She will continue to have more roles in the future),” he added.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 also stars Emraan Hashmi. The film did not perform well at the box office, grossing 264 million rupees at the domestic box office. Unable to live up to the huge pre-release expectations, the box office is likely to take a big hit this Friday when Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ releases.
