Superstar Party Film Debut – The Hollywood Reporter
I brought Beyoncé Renaissance to the big screen Saturday night, debuting her new musical at a star-studded event in Beverly Hills.
The premiere, held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, included a dress code of “comfortable opulence”, featured a chrome carpet, and was followed by a screening of the film. Guests were invited to take photos of the eye-catching step-and-repeat — and they showed up Renaissance A work of cinematic art – and participating in several other photo shoots, including posing with Beyoncé’s signature silver horse.
Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LaTavia Roberson and Letoya Lockett, along with Janelle Monáe, Issa Rae, Lizzo, Halle and Chloe Bailey, Lupita Nyong’o, Tyler Perry, Nessie Nash-Pitts, Gabrielle Union, Ava DuVernay, and Lena. Wyeth, Kris Jenner, Robin Thede, Jeremy Pope, Laverne Cox, Marsai Martin, Coco Jones, Beyoncé’s dancers Les Twins and her parents, Tina and Matthew Knowles, were among the stars who walked the carpet. After the audience arrived, the audience was taken inside the theater, where the phones were turned off.
Beyoncé didn’t officially walk the carpet, but she snuck in and out of the show with her family once the lights went out. Inside the event, the star-studded group of guests mingled before the movie started, but once it started, they stayed in their seats and left the dancing on the screen. Attendees were also introduced Renaissance– Branded popcorn containers and soda cups, plus a sample of the star’s new fragrance.

The film’s Los Angeles premiere will be followed by a world premiere in London on Thursday, before the film debuts in theaters on Friday. Beyoncé is best known for her musical films, including… Homecoming: A Beyoncé Filmé, which debuted on Netflix in 2019 and received six Emmy nominations. The film followed her headline slot at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which was lauded for being one of the most iconic music performances of all time.
