Superstar Party Film Debut – The Hollywood Reporter

Beyoncé brings Renaissance to the big screen Saturday night, debuting her new musical at a star-studded event in Beverly Hills.

The premiere, which will be held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater and includes a “relaxed extravagance” dress code, featured a chrome carpet, followed by a screening of the film. Guests were invited to take photos of the eye-catching step-and-repeat — and they showed up Renaissance A work of cinematic art – and participating in several other photo shoots, including posing with Beyoncé’s signature silver horse.

Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams and Letoya Lockett, along with Janelle Monáe, Issa Rae, Lizzo, Halle Bailey, Lupita Nyong’o, Niecy Nash-Pitts, Gabrielle Union, Ava DuVernay, Lena Waithe, Kris Jenner, Robin Thede, Jeremy Pope, and Laverne Cox were dancers. Marsai Martin, Coco Jones, Beyonce and Les Twins are among the stars who walked the carpet. Beyoncé herself has yet to appear. After the audience arrived, the audience was taken inside the theater, where the phones were turned off.

Renaissance: A Beyoncé Filmfollows the star embarking on the Renaissance World Tour, her highest-grossing tour to date, and in support of Renaissance The album that helped her become the most awarded female artist in the history of the Grammy Awards. It features behind-the-scenes footage as well as Beyoncé’s onstage performances — documenting her from the tour’s opening in Stockholm, Sweden to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri — and is produced by the singer’s label, Parkwood Entertainment.

The film’s Los Angeles premiere will be followed by a world premiere in London on Thursday, before the film debuts in theaters on Friday. The project is being distributed directly through AMC Theaters, just like Taylor Swift Tour of the ages The party movie that will hit theaters in October. Swift also had the Los Angeles premiere of the film — which became the first concert film in history to surpass $100 million at the domestic box office — where Beyoncé made a special appearance.

Beyoncé is best known for her musical films, including… Homecoming: A Beyoncé Filmé, which debuted on Netflix in 2019 and received six Emmy nominations. The film followed her headline slot at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which was lauded for being one of the most iconic music performances of all time.

Renaissance Tickets are currently on sale internationally.
