Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ gets adult-only certificate from CBFC, Sandeep Reddy Vanga reveals film’s runtime | Bollywood News

Animals are coming. Ranbir Kapoor’s latest action thriller “Animal” has received an ‘A’ (adult) rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the makers have announced.

The film marks Ranbir’s first collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for films such as Arjun Reddy and its blockbuster Hindi remake Kabir Singh. . ‘Animal’ is touted to be a ‘violent’ film that depicts the complex dynamics of Ranbir Kapoor’s obsession with his girlfriend’s father, played by Anil Kapoor.

Many in the industry expected Animal to get an A rating from the CBFC, but what came as a surprise was the film’s running time of 3 hours and 21 minutes. With a running time of 200 minutes, Animal is one of the longest mainstream theatrical films released in recent years.

The nearly three-and-a-half hour running time will likely affect the movie’s screening in movie theaters. Multiplexes have pre-show advertising, intermissions and cleaning times, all of which add up to nearly four hours of screening time.

If people like the movie, Animal could emerge as one of the highest-grossing adult films in Bollywood. Currently, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2019 ‘Kabir Singh’ tops the list at Rs 278, followed by ‘Kashmir Files’ and ‘Kerala Stories’ at Rs 252 and Rs 242, respectively.

Animal stars Bobby Deol as the main antagonist and also stars Rashmika Mandana, Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor and others. The film is scheduled to release on December 1 and will clash at the box office with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.
