European Film Academy honors producer Uliana Kim – The Hollywood Reporter

Ulyana Kim, the Korean-Kyrgyz producer of famous documentaries such as Mariopolis And The natural history of destructionwill be honored at this year’s European Film Awards with the 2023 Eurimages International Co-Production Award.

The award is supported by the European Co-production Fund Eurimages.

Kim was born to a Korean family in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, and is one of Eastern Europe’s leading film producers. Its production and distribution company, Studio Oljana Kim, based in Vilnius, Lithuania, has produced 34 feature and documentary films, most of which premiered at major international film festivals.

Some of her most successful features include the film THe is a gambler (2013), Kristigonas Veldziunas lease (2002), and Thomas Fingris Five and a half love stories in an apartment in Vilnius From this year.

Kim has co-produced 10 films with support from Eurimages, six of which he served as majority producer.

The European Film Academy said in a statement that Kim’s honor “indicates her outstanding commitment to co-production and the strong co-production partnerships she has built over the years.” It is also an acknowledgment of her company’s excellent track record in the competitive arena of the Eurimages Co-production Support Programme.

Kim will be honored at the European Film Awards in Berlin on December 9.
