The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will kick off tomorrow on the Goa coast with a gala opening ceremony. The opening ceremony will feature performances by Bollywood superstars Madhuri Dixit and Shahid Kapoor. The festival also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Salman Khan, Vidya Balan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Anupam Kher, Vicky Kaushal, Siddharth Malhotra, Aditi Rao Hydari, AR Rahman, Amit Trivedi and others. Earlier, Shri Anurag Thakur conveyed his wishes to the film festival and said that in an era when technology continues to reshape the way we consume content, film festivals remain a testament to the enduring appeal of the cinematic experience. He said: “IFFI has become the perfect platform for collaboration, co-production and cutting-edge technology, and the passion of our filmmakers and collaboration with directors and filmmakers means that IFFI grows every year. “There is,” he said.

This year, IFFI received an overwhelming response. A total of 2,926 entries were received from 105 countries, which is three times the number of international entries he received last year. Over 270 films will be screened at the festival’s four venues during the nine-day festival. During the festival, 13 world premieres, 18 international premieres, 62 Asian premieres and 89 Indian premieres will be screened. The Best Web Series (OTT) Award received a total of 32 entries from 15 of his OTT platforms in his 10 languages. This year, 15 feature films (12 international and 3 Indian) will compete for the coveted Golden Peacock Award.

A documontage section was also introduced this year to highlight the importance of documentary filmmaking. In addition to this, seven international films and three Indian films reflecting UNESCO’s ideals will also be showcased at the ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal Awarding Session during the festival.

As a testament to its commitment to nurturing emerging talent, IFFI will also host masterclasses, workshops and panel discussions with renowned industry heavyweights. During the festival, more than 20 leading companies will host professional masterclasses and talent camps for 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow (CMOT) candidates.

NFDC Film Bazaar will showcase VFX and technology pavilions, showcasing documentary and non-feature projects/movies, knowledge series, and box office books. A novel initiative in the Restored Classics section will see the world premiere of seven world-class restorations from damaged celluloid reels of Indian classics carried out by NFDC-NFAI under the National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM). It’s a schedule. Three international films restored under this mission will also be screened during the festival.

An exhibition with immersive visual content was also set up by the Central Telecommunications Department, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Movie buffs can also learn about movies through interactive exhibits. Admission is free for everyone. In addition to this, open-air screenings for the public will also be held at three locations, along with initiatives such as Caravan, Sigmotsav, Goa Carnival, Selfie Points, IFFI Goods, etc..

As part of media promotion, the Press Information Bureau will issue press releases in English, Hindi and regional languages ​​on all events related to the festival. PIB will also issue a press release in Konkani for the first time to local media. The PIB social media team will live stream press conferences and other events and post live updates on social media handles. PIB has also set up a media facilitation center at the venue to provide necessary support to the media.

Careful arrangements have been made to ensure that festival attendees with disabilities have access to the venue and screenings. Embedded audio and embedded sign language for the visually impaired will also be available. In addition, Indian panoramic films dubbed into various languages ​​will also be screened.

Further preparations are in full swing at the venue to further strengthen IFFI as one of India’s largest film festivals for the world.

The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on Doordarshan. Viacom Media Pvt. Ltd. is the exclusive media and broadcast partner for the opening and closing ceremony cultural performances and will broadcast the ceremonies on COLORS TV channel and its OTT platform JioCinema.
