A movie fan interviews the Hollywood actor from Breaking Bad and Friends
Paul Donaldson, who runs the Carlisle Cult Film Club, spoke to actor Larry Hankin.
While Hankin may not be a household name, he has appeared in several high-profile shows and films.
He starred as Sergeant Larry Balzac in Home Alone, Mr. Huckles in Friends, Joe in Breaking Bad, Doobie in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and had a major role as Charley Butts in Escape From Alcatraz.
Mr Donaldson was able to arrange an interview with the star and the pair plan to work together in the future.
“A guy called Stephen Joyner who is a booking agent called me and approached me to get stars on my podcasts,” he said.
“We got Larry Hankin on board and after some chats on the phone we sat down for an hour and a half interview, which could have gone on much longer.”
The Carlisle Cult Cinema Club operates through a Facebook page where Paul posts information about films and also reviews and entertainment news.
He also has a podcast and is currently featuring some Hollywood stars.
The group also hosts classic film screenings at The Source in Carlisle.
“He’s so wonderful, he was so generous with his stories and his time. I was able to extract stories from him that weren’t even in his book, which is called ‘This Guy Larry Hankin.’
“He’s a really nice guy, we’re now friends and keep in touch. We’ll be recording more online content exclusively for his website.
Hankin will sell the recorded interviews as audio accompaniment to his book.
“He likes me and thinks I’m the right man for the job, and I’ve been asking him things he wouldn’t normally get asked.
“I was delving deeper and asking him about some of his favorite films as I had done research on his career and was receiving some very interesting stories.”
