Hollywood is making a movie about Morgan’s Wonderland

San Antonio – Morgan’s Wonderland will soon be released on the big screen.

The San Antonio omnibus theme park announced Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement with Zero Gravity and SR-48 for a film about the Hartman family and their nonprofit organization.

Morgan’s Wonderland is open to people of all ages and disabilities. Gordon and Maggie Hartman were inspired to create the garden by their daughter, Morgan, as she was born with cognitive and physical challenges.

A press release indicates that the film will be about the moment the Hartmans decided to open the park. It will also focus on the challenges and pressures a family faces when raising a child with special needs.

“This will be a love story about Morgan, who has dealt with cognitive and physical special needs since birth and who has become a champion for our mission – inclusion,” Gordon Hartman said in the release. “Morgan has no idea what a profound positive impact she has made in helping children and adults with special needs and disabilities, but she is truly a star in her own right.”

Maggie Hartman added that the film “will also encourage viewers to be kinder, kinder, and more understanding in their interactions with others.”

Sean Robbins, a producer at SR-48 whose credits include “All My Life,” “Playing with Fire” and “Tag,” will work on the film, along with Ryan Lewis, a producer at Zero Gravity Management whose credits include “Fat Kid.” “Rules the World,” “5,000 Blankets,” “The Accountant,” and “Ozark.”

The screenplay was written by Salvador Paskovic, best known for the 2016 film “Age of Adaline.”

“As a father, my heart melted when I read about the inspiring love that Gordon and Maggie had for Morgan and the extraordinary effort they put in to make this dream a reality,” Robbins said. “It is a story of hope, compassion and community coming together to make what seems impossible possible at a time when this message is needed more than ever.”

The script has been completed, and now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, the filmmakers are entering the next phase of the film.

Robins said they are currently building their team. The press release did not mention the expected date of the film’s premiere.
