The West Hollywood Human Rights Speaker Series presents: Women’s Lives Freedom Film Festival

The event will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in the City of West Hollywood Public Auditorium/Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard, adjacent to the West Hollywood Library. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., opening remarks will be at 6 p.m., and the film will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the panel discussion. The event is free, but seating is limited. Nationwide protests began in the Islamic Republic of Iran on September 17, 2022 in response to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Mahsa, from the Kurdish minority, was arrested by law enforcement authorities for allegedly not adhering to hijab rules and died three days later while in detention.
