The gala premiere takes center stage at the 54th IFFI 2023

An extravaganza of blockbusters and web series awaits you at the 54th International Film Festival of India, Goa, from November 20 to 28, 2023.

For the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), National Film Development Corporation Limited is pleased to present the much awaited second edition of ‘Gala Premiere’. This segment is meticulously designed to connect movie stars with the audience, celebrates the art of world cinema and showcases an extraordinary selection of films, all in keeping with the core ethos of the festival.

Feature Films Farrey (Hindi), Starring Young Talent and Produced by Salman Khan, Gandhi Talks (Silent) World Premiere Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi and Aditi Rao Hydari, AR Rahman, Kadak Singh (Hindi) Starring Pankaj Tripathi and Parvathy Thiruvothu, Hurry Om Hurry (Gujarati) starring Siddharth Randheria, Rauthu Ki Bel (Hindi) starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Gray Games (Canada) starring Vijay Raghvendra, two series from Amazon Originals, Dhootha (Telugu (Teluguiruahuhua) and Nagavath. (Tamil) starring Arya, apart from Asian Dil Hai Gray (Hindi), starring Akshay Oberoi and Urvashi Rautela and Tarsem Singh’s Dear Jass (Punjabi) are slated to premiere at IFFI.

The movie Ae Watan Mere Watan will have a special screening with a conversation between Karan Johar and Sara Ali Khan.

Mr. Anurag Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. India said, “I warmly welcome the esteemed filmmakers and talented actors for Salman Khan’s production of ‘Shield’; ‘Gandhi Talks’ produced by ZEE with Arvind Swamy and Vijay Sethupathi; “Kadak Singh” featuring Pankaj Tripathi; Amazon Original series ‘Dhootha’ with Naga Chaitanya and Parvathy Thiruvothu; and ‘The Village’, starring Arya and Divya Pillai, among other notable artists including AR Rahman and Urvashi Rautela. The presence of the famous Tarsem Singh adds a touch of glamor to this cinematic extravaganza. The gala premiere further echoes our latest campaign, ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’, which celebrates cinema from the land of North, East, South and West. Together we celebrate the magic of cinema in Goa!”

The gala premiere segment is a testament to the power of storytelling and we are honored to present these fascinating films that inspire and move audiences. “The Shield”, directed by Sumendra Paddy, promises a thrilling journey waiting to be unravelled, while “Gandhi Talks” by Kishore Padurang Bellekar is a social commentary that explores the depths of capitalism, racism and society with an intriguing reference. Hindu Mythology and History of ‘Samudra Manthan’.

Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Kadak Singh tells the story of Financial Crimes Department officer A.K. The story of Srivastava, who was diagnosed with retrograde amnesia. Despite his condition, he solves the difficult case of the Chit Fund Scam by listening to different perspectives on who he was and how he ended up in the hospital. The Village, directed by Milind Rau, takes the audience on a road trip that turns nasty when a family falls prey to a clan of mutants.

With many other notable films including Hurry Om Hurry, Dear Jassi, Rauthu Ki Bel, Dhota, Dil Hai Grey, and Gray Games, the 54th IFFI Gala Premieres section offers a diverse and a captivating cinematic experience that challenges perceptions, explores human emotion and explores the realm of suspense and mystery.
