The director pair Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who was intrigued by Yash’s acting in films like ‘Gangster’ and ‘One’, invited him to Mumbai. After six hours of discussion, he was selected for “Yariyan 2” without an audition.

His rise to limelight began in Bengal, especially with the television sensation ‘Bojhena Se Bojhena’. However, his acting roots go back to Mumbai where he landed roles in series like ‘Mahima Shani Dev Kii’ and ‘Basera’. Initially a hobby that he took up casually, it turned into a passion when Yash moved to Kolkata due to his family obligations. Despite the origins of his career in Mumbai, Bollywood was not an immediate aspiration for Yash. He emphasizes the importance of the journey, not just the end goal. Having achieved success in the Bengali film industry, he was content until ‘Yaariyan 2’ came along, but was somewhat hesitant to make a fresh start in Bollywood.
Yash’s self-evaluation speaks of his humility. He rates his own acting skills at just 0.5 out of 10 and cites Amitabh Bachchan’s constant learning spirit. Drawing a metaphorical reference, Yash believes that as an actor, he is still in the fetal stage, just like being “in the mother’s womb”.
