A new horror film by the much-talked-about author of “The Host” is now available on Netflix
The writer and executive producer of the viral hit The Host is releasing a new short to Netflix in time for Halloween. Flashback, written by Jed Shepherd, follows the life of a yoga teacher played by Gemma Moore whose life flashes back before her eyes during a dangerous home invasion. She must use flashbacks to go back in time and save the man she loves before time runs out.
shepard shared a trailer twitter “I’m so excited to announce Flashback, which I wrote and directed for Netflix. It stars some of the nicest people I know.” Moore is shown teaching in a yoga studio when a figure that resembles a looms in the doorway. Meanwhile, an unknown narrator talks in the background about how our lives flash forward, looking into our eyes right before we die and saying, “If you could control that flashback, If you could live that moment again, would you change the situation?”
The director of Netflix’s new short has had success with other offbeat horror films, including Dash Cam and the 2020 hit The Host, which Shepard wrote and produced.one of best found footage horror movies, the host follows six friends who hire a medium to hold a séance via Zoom during the lockdown. The séance quickly takes on a sinister atmosphere, and as ghosts begin invading each house, the group begins to realize they may not survive the night.
Shepard’s new film, Flashback, is his shortest yet, clocking in at just 16 minutes. In addition to Moore, the rest of the cast includes: creatorAmar Chadha-Patel and Hayley Bishop.
