How is this Disney World hotel actually being canceled?
Things change a lot at Disney World when it comes to construction projects.
For example, consider the massive transformation of EPCOT. While several things were planned as part of that transformation (a new movie for the China Pavilion, updates to Spaceship Earth, a Mary Poppins-themed attraction, etc.), some of them were postponed or completely canceled. was canceled. but, A project everyone thought was canceled may actually be moving forward.
The project is Reflections — Disney Lakeside Lodge. Disney World first announced the resort in 2018 and had some pretty ambitious plans. The resort is Sit on Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Land that was once River Country.
The nature-themed resort will be a deluxe resort with more than 900 guest rooms, including a variety of Disney Vacation Club villas. At this resort, princess and frog– On-site themed restaurant. Disney also released concept art for the restaurant.
what happened? Well, in 2019 Disney changed his D23 Expo announcement blog post, Reflections — Removed all references to A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Fast forward to 2023, and Disney has yet to make an official statement about the project.
But Disney remained silent about the actual situation at the resort. However, the company All construction equipment was quietly removed from the area. This would lead most people to believe that the project was abandoned.
Disney appeared to have given up on the project, especially since the company had not applied for new permits. Until recently a permit extension was applied for. That extension was granted for another five years, which may mean Disney has plans for Reflections after all. But that’s no guarantee the project will once again be on Disney’s radar.
We recently Segway tour at Wilderness Lodge (I highly recommend this!). Our tour guide pointed out the Reflections property, talked a little about the project, and said, It was still very much a work in progress.. This was the first confirmation we had heard about this resort from Disney officials.
So, while everyone has pretty much given up on Reflections, it seems Disney hasn’t completely forgotten about it yet. The company recently announced that it plans to spend $60 billion over the next 10 years expanding its theme parks and resorts, which could be one of its hot projects again. We’ll be keeping an eye on all the latest news, so be sure to check back with AllEars again soon.
