When Sanjay’s second film hit the screens, his elder brother Anil Kapoor had already been working in the industry for more than a decade and had appeared as the lead in several blockbuster films.

Sanjay Kapoor told Bollywood Hungama, “There are pros and cons to having a family in the limelight, but everyone’s expectations are 10 times higher.My first film was compared to Anil’s last film. So when my career started, Anil was an A-list star. He was the one who gave credit to Mr. India, Tezaab, Ram Lakhan… so obviously there were comparisons. I knew it was going to happen, obviously they were going to compare me to him and not other actors. We’re brothers, so we’re going to be compared.”

Boney, Anil and Sanjay are the sons of late Surinder Kapoor, a producer known for several big projects in the industry.

The actor went on to say, “I had to take this success and the subsequent failures at my own pace. There were things that didn’t work out. Obviously, I was accepted. That’s why ‘Raja’… That’s why it became a blockbuster. But when a film doesn’t do well, you have to accept criticism as well,” said the actor.
