Little Women SYNOPSIS
Little Women Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author`s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig`s take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on her own terms – is both timeless and timely. Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothee Chalamet as their neighbor Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.

Little Women2019 hollywood movie explores the lives of the March sisters in 1860s New England, in the aftermath of the American Civil War. According to one of its producers, the new adaptation focuses more on the sisters’ young adult lives, particularly after Meg, Jo, and Amy leave their family home. The film jumps back and forth in time and focuses more on themes than narrative.
Little Women 2019, as we all know, is the story of the March sisters. The eldest, Meg March, is said to be the most beautiful of them all and will be played by Emma Watson, who’s best known for playing Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. Jo, the second-eldest sister, is the most independent one and she is being played by The Lady Bird actress Saoirse Ronan. Beth, the shyest, kindest, and second-youngest sister is going to be played Eliza Scanlen who is best known for her role in HBO’s Sharp Objects. Florence Pugh, who had the lead role in the WWE biopic Fighting With My Family, will be playing the youngest sister, Amy.
But it’s not just the role of the sisters that has been fantastically cast. Jo’s best friend, Laurie, will be played by Timothée Chalamet, who has previously appeared as Ronan’s love interest in The Lady Bird. Marmee March, the mother of the four sisters, will be played by Laura Dern, who was recently seen in the acclaimed HBO series Big Little Lies. Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk will be playing the father, Mr. March. And last, but not the least, Aunt March is going to be played by the Oscar favorite Meryl Streep.
