‘Jurassic Park’ star Sam Neill isn’t afraid to die in battle with cancer – The Hollywood Reporter
Sam Neill says he is not afraid of dying as he reflects on his difficult battle with a rare blood cancer.
He spoke in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. australian storyThe 76-year-old New Zealander says death is “a nuisance” but “not scary at all”. That said, he is “full of fear” at the thought of retiring from acting.

His doctors tried chemotherapy, but it became ineffective after three months, Australian news outlets reported. He was then switched to a medication that required intravenous infusions every two weeks, and although his cancer went into remission, it had difficult side effects. Doctors told him that at some point the medicine would stop working.
“I’m ready for that,” Neal said. “I know I know that, but I’m not really interested in it. It’s out of my control. …I started looking at my life and realized how grateful I am for so much of it… I’m in a very uncertain world right now.”
Neil focuses instead on his vineyard, garden, grandchildren, and more. He also continues to work as an actor, filming a film with Annette Bening (before production was halted due to a writer’s and actors’ strike) titled “The Movie”. apples don’t fall, based on the novel by Liane Moriarty (the interview took place before the actors’ strike).
