Shivani Shivaji Roy is back and this time she’s on the trail of a 21 year old merciless villain who targets women.

The much-awaited Mardaani 2 movie trailer is finally here and oh boy, what a trailer it is! Written and directed by Gopi Puthran, this Rani Mukherji starrer is produced by her husband Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The movie is gearing up for a release on the 13th of December 2019 and will see Rani reprising her role as the badass cop Shivani Shivaji Roy. This time, she is posted in Kota, Rajasthan. The trailer starts off with a young girl asking for a lift from a man who readily agrees. The next scene is a news report of a brutal rape and murder case. Is it the same girl? Was the man who she thought was helping her, the perpetrator? Watch the trailer below:

Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2: Unacceptable To Malign A City’s Name, Says Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

A group of residents of Kota met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the city to protest against Rani Mukerji’s upcoming film Mardaani 2.

Aday after the release of the trailer of Rani Mukerji’s upcoming film Mardaani 2, Kota residents have come out to protest against the film. The protesters say that the film, which is set in Kota, shows their city in bad light. To register their protest, some of the members of different business and social groups met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who is also an MP from Kota.

The protesters say that the film forms a bad image of Kota, which is coaching hub for engineering and medical entrance exams, in the minds of people of the country. They are now asking makers to remove the name of Kota from their film. Most part of Mardaani 2 was shot in Kota for which Rani Mukerji was in the city for many days.

Om Birla, MP from Kota and Lok Sabha Speaker, assured protesters that he will take the matter further and required steps will be taken.

Mardani 2 is the sequel to Rani Mukerji’s 2014 film. In an earlier interview to IANS, Gopi Puthran, director of Mardaani 2, said, “Rani as Shivani will be seen in a massive showdown with a 21-year-old villain who is an embodiment of pure evil. He is a dangerous criminal who targets women.”
