Daredevil actor Vincent D’Onofrio reacts to Daredevil firing
Vincent D’Onofrio talks about Marvel’s decision to overhaul the new Daredevil series creatively.
“All the cool projects I’ve worked on have always evolved during pre-production, production and post, and these days they just get reported like it’s big news,” D’Onofrio said. writing. twitter. “That’s not the case. It’s just a bunch of creators doing their best to make something right. That’s always the case in this industry. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Frankly, we’d settle for less than this. If that’s the case, that’s a concern. That’s what we’re doing. We’re going to put out the best series we can. It’s a series we can be proud of. I need you to have a little faith, my friend, and I need you to trust me. ”
It was previously reported that Marvel had fired the writer and director of Daredevil: Born Again. During a production hiatus in mid-June due to the WGA strike, Marvel executives, including Kevin Feige, reviewed the footage and determined that “the show wasn’t working.” At the time, less than half of the 18 episodes had been filmed, and due to legal proceedings, Charlie Cox was not seen donning the Daredevil costume until the fourth episode.
D’Onofrio played Wilson Fisk, aka Daredevil, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and reprized the role in the underrated Disney+ series Hawkeye. D’Onofrio returns as the big bad in Disney+’s Born Again, with most of the cast returning from the original series except Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Hensen (aka Karen and Foggy).
