Away from home at a Disney villa
Ally Kawamoto Chu smiled as she explained the amenities at The Villa at Disneyland Hotel, which opened last week.
As Experience Integration Manager, Chu Kawamoto says his job is to provide unique experiences to guests, in this case members of the Disney Vacation Club, a vacation timeshare program run by Disney. He explained.
“We have some really fun seasonal experiences like Halloween a cappella groups and free trick-or-treating,” she explained.
The Villas is the first hotel to open at the resort since 2009 and features 344 thoughtfully themed rooms, each drawing inspiration from Disney animated films.
At the Sept. 28 opening ceremony, Disneyland Hotel General Manager Dan Coleman said The Villas marks a new chapter for the resort with the opening of the 16th Disney Vacation Club Resort. Other locations include Aulani in Hawaii and Walt’s Disney Riviera Resort at Disney World.
“Villas at Disneyland Hotel is a great example of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling and the creative process that talented artists go through to bring Disney characters to life from sketch to screen. We celebrate our heritage,” said Bill Dierksen, Disney’s senior vice president and general manager. vacation club. “With imaginative details and spacious accommodations, this beautiful new tower is the perfect place for families to create magical vacation memories for years to come.”
The entryway features a mural by artist Lorelai Bovet depicting iconic classic Disney scenes. Each room’s theme is based on a different Disney movie. As we toured the hotel, there were many small details and touches that paid homage to films such as The Jungle Book, Frozen, Moana, and The Princess.
Our one- and two-bedroom villas offer more spacious accommodation for larger families, sleeping up to 5 and 9 people respectively. The villa features a full-sized kitchen and living area with comfortable sofa seating that easily folds down to reveal a queen-sized bed with a bed above that is inspired by ‘The Princess and the Fantasia’ or ‘Fantasia.’ The mural is themed around the story of the story. ” The comfort continues in the main bedroom, which features a spacious en-suite bathroom with double vanity, bathtub with themed mosaic-style tile mural, and spa-like shower.
The stunning two-story Grand Villa offers multi-level accommodation for up to 12 guests. The first floor welcomes families with a full-sized kitchen, large dining area, and double-sided fireplace that connects the living area to a private outdoor balcony with views of both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
The pool area has a play zone inspired by “Steamboat Willie.”
Dean Huspen, executive architect at Walt Disney Imagineering, explained that much of the planning involved working around space limitations. The Villas is a new tower built next to the Disneyland Hotel.
“Projects like this involve complexity, not only in the design but especially in the construction, because all the work is done in a small area. It’s very well thought out and planned,” Heuspen said.
“As a design team, we bring our storytelling inspiration to the bigger details and even the smallest details. We strive to make every moment your favorite.”
