Ahead of the film’s release, the Dubliner was interviewed for Esquire magazine’s 90th anniversary issue.

“This is something that adults need to be aware of and talk about,” he said. “And when it comes to medicine, it’s a night and day difference.”

“Before, my mind was like a traffic jam, and I was going crazy. But with the drugs, it was like one car going and another coming and going.”

While discussing becoming a first-time father for his son Brando, he stated that he had no male role models as a child and relied on his grandmother, who raised him after his mother passed away.

Barry said, “We all often have a reference figure or a lesson from our fathers. I’m not denying my father, I just didn’t have that. But this… When I say, I’m honest. I can do it.” I am a father because of my grandmother. She raised her 10 children.

“She had a great attitude about everything. That’s my standard for men and women. She was my father and my mother.”

He went on to say, “Abandonment is so deeply ingrained in me that I have other responsibilities now so I have to overcome it, which I have to spend a lot of time and effort on. But I love it.

“I love discovering things about myself and my strengths. And it happened, and it’s no one’s fault. It’s not my parents’ fault. It just happened. As an adult, As a father, I now understand that these things happen.”

This comes after Barry was spotted cuddling up to Kylie Minogue at London Fashion Week, looking happier than ever.

The actor attended Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 show wearing a head-to-toe houndstooth look.

The monochrome ensemble consisted of a hooded jacket, slouchy pants, and white trainers.

The Dubliner was seated in the front row next to singer Kylie Minogue, Burna Boy and Top Boy castmate Michael Ward.

The Australian beauty stunned in a green trench coat, opaque tights and purple shoes.
