New Delhi: Akshay Kumar’s latest movies Mission Raniganj: Great Bharat Rescue is currently showing in theaters. Inspired by real events, the film depicts the heroic story of Jaswant Singh Gil, who led one of India’s biggest escape operations. Set in 1989, the film tells the story of a coal mine rescue mission from West Bengal when 65 miners are trapped inside the mine due to flooding.
Mission Raniganj Review
Akshay Kumar plays Jaswant Singh Gill, an additional chief mining engineer who relies on hope and resilience to evacuate 65 workers in a race against time to survive. Despite being a survival thriller film based on real events, the film fails to evoke any thrills or emotions. The first half is bland with little character arc. They managed to regain some momentum in the second half, but have yet to make a lasting impact.

Even though Akshay takes his role seriously, the scriptwriter leaves little room for other characters to shine. Parineeti Chopra, who plays her loving wife, has little to do other than play her loyal wife. This movie fails to stimulate the senses in terms of direction and visuals. This was a sincere attempt to highlight the story of courage and bravery, but while Akshay’s character may have saved many lives, the actor could not save this film.

According to early estimated numbers based on the film’s advance sales, the film is expected to record a weak start. According to a TOI report, the film has collected Rs 49.77 crore in advance.
