What you need to know about SNL’s newest cast member, Chloe Troast
NBC announced that Chloe Troast will join the cast of “Saturday Night Live” as the only new comedian rounding out the show’s talent lineup next year.
Trost will make his “SNL” debut on Oct. 14, when the show’s 49th season premieres. The episode will also feature musical performances by host (and former cast member) Pete Davidson and Ice Spice.
Up-and-comer Trost will co-star with regulars Michael Che, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Bowen Yang and Keenan Thompson.
Here are five things to know about the newest face of “Saturday Night Live.”
Trost is from New Jersey. Currently based in Brooklyn
Mr. Trost is from Ho-hocus, a town in northern New Jersey, and crossed the Hudson River to attend New York University. She attended New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Studies, which she calls “basically just an English degree,” where she earned a minor in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies.
She currently lives in Brooklyn, not far from her hometown.

Trost will star in a new film starring SNL comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. Scheduled for release on November 17th, “Please Don’t Destroy: Treasure of the Mist Mountain” follows three friends who go on a journey to find gold said to be hidden in a nearby mountain.
“Treasure of the Mist Mountain” is directed by Paul Briganti and produced by Universal and Judd Apatow.
Trost will also appear in the upcoming Max movie “Sweethearts.”
She co-hosts the weekly comedy show Cherry in New York.
Along with Auguste White and Moss Perricone, Trost hosts Cherry every week at the Public Hotel in New York City. Cherry features a different comedian every Friday at 8pm and features DJ Jeremy Elder.
Guest comedians include Hasan Minhaj, Sidney Washington, Andrew Dismukes, Rachel Sennott, Alex English, Joe Pera and Asha Ward.
She was named one of Just for Laugh’s New Faces of Comedy
Trost was named one of JFL’s 2023 Comedy Newcomers. Mr. Trost, who is included in the group of comedians belonging to the category of “characters”, participated in the Comedy His festival in Montreal in July of this year. The “Characters” show was hosted by Chris Redd.
Previous comedians who have performed at the festival early in their careers include Kevin Hart and Kumail Nanjiani.
Trost will play Pepper Slitt.
Trost is known for embodying the character Pepper Slits on her intermittent comedy show, which she describes on Instagram as a “living relic of the Broadway stage and silver screen.” Her most recent show as Pepper Slits was at the Slipper Room in New York City.
Troast is also an avid crocheter and her fiber art creations can be seen on Instagram @chlooby.crochet.
