Jacqueline Jossa faces backlash after shaming her mother with ‘irresponsible’ post
Jacqueline Jossa faces huge backlash for promoting an “irresponsible” app after the EastEnders star shared a heavily edited photo of herself on social media
EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has sparked a backlash after sharing a highly edited photo of herself on social media, with some fans slamming the post as “irresponsible”.
The 30-year-old, best known for her role as Lauren Branning in the BBC drama, revealed on Instagram on Wednesday that she had discovered a new editing app that makes users look “thin, beautiful and young”. It seems like she approves of the extension, as she included the words “Awesome!” in the caption.
The first snap of the post shows Jacqueline holding a cappuccino and smiling for the camera while wearing a beige silk blouse and matching skirt. Other photos from the festivities show the TV actress wearing a variety of preppy attire, including a school uniform and a knit-on-knit look.
Although she has not revealed the name of the editing app, it is clear that she supports it, and it is not well-received among her followers. One person wrote, “Oh my god. You are followed by so many girls and women who are struggling with their body image. Posting things like this doesn’t help.” This disappointment was echoed by another fan, who commented: “I love most of jacjossa’s posts. This is truly irresponsible on so many levels.”
Jacqueline and her husband Dan Osborne, whom she married in 2017, are the proud parents of two daughters. They are Ella, 8 years old, and Mia, 5 years old. Some fans even went so far as to shame the “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here” winner into her mother with the controversial update, with some even saying it was her fault. It was suggested that this could have a negative impact on children.
“Exactly why I have removed my daughter from all social media platforms currently obsessed with fakes,” they wrote, while another unimpressed said: “Why are you promoting this? ?” he said.
However, not everyone was quick to condemn Jacqueline. Many people found the post funny, including the soap star’s celebrity friend Vicky Patterson. The Geordie Shore star wrote: “Picture 5 is for Kelly who was saved by the bell,” to which Jacqueline responded: “STOPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS He politely replied with a raised hand emoji.
It was recently announced that Jacqueline will be returning to EastEnders after a four-month break from filming. The London actress disappeared from our screens over the summer as her character Lauren headed to France to spend time with Peter and their son Louis.
Speaking about her return to Albert Square in September, Jacqueline admitted she was “really excited” to be back on set. “There’s so much buzz about EastEnders at the moment so it’s a really great time to be back. I love watching it as a fan. Walford is very close to my heart. It occupies a special place and I really feel like it’s coming home,” she said.
