Siddharth feels ignored by Telugu film industry
Actor Siddharth has earned a huge fan following in the Telugu film industry with films like ‘Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana’ and ‘Bommarillu’. The actor recently visited Hyderabad to promote his new film ‘Chinna’. During the event, he became emotional and felt ignored by the Telugu film industry.
After his big break in Tollywood, Siddharth appeared in ‘Mahasamudram’, which unfortunately turned out to be a huge flop. Frustrated with his declining success, Siddharth decided to produce and act in a film titled ‘Chitta’, which was released in Tamil and received positive reviews.
We managed to raise over 1 million yen. 1.1 billion yen in just 5 days. However, despite its success in Tamil, Siddhartha was disappointed when no one came forward to buy the rights for the Telugu version.
Siddharth revealed that Udhayanidhi Stalin bought the film in Tamil and praised it as the best he had ever seen. The largest distributor in Kerala also acquired the film. It was released by the makers of ‘KGF’ in Kannada. However, when it came to Telugu, the distributors expressed doubts about its acceptance in the Telugu market and director Siddharth felt that his film was not given a fair chance.
Siddharth believed that if he made a good film, audiences would support it, regardless of his position in the industry. At this point, Asian Sunil approached Siddharth and offered to distribute the film in Telugu and promised his support to Siddharth.
Siddharth thanked them for believing in his project and showing willingness to distribute it in the Telugu market.
In that regard, Siddharth also mentioned that in the 10 years from 2013 to 2023, he was commissioned for only three films, including ‘Maha Samudram’.
