These 5 game series should be Netflix’s next animated shows

Netflix revealed during its recent showcase that it is working on several new animated shows based on video games. These include: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Shows based on the Devil May Cry series and updates Castlevania Nocturne and Captain Razorhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Currently, there are several demonstrations in the entertainment industry that games can make for good programming. As games become the new site of choice for TV writers to unearth interesting visual work, the question arises: What happens next? Are there any other game series that would make great animated shows on Netflix or other streaming services? It’s more than just a title. Hideo Kojima’s seminal stealth action saga Metal Gear Solid features some of the most complex and interesting plotlines and some of the most iconic and visually distinctive characters in the medium.I can’t imagine a world with military dramas, espionage, and giant mechs. Can not Attracts a wide audience. Plus, the main character of Snake avoids the faceless protagonist problem that plagued the Halo series. It would be a fascinating dramatic role for the right actor (and we should give that to Pedro Pascal).

Plans for a live-action Metal Gear Solid movie are in the works, but the latest reports suggest it’s still in the very early stages of development. If Netflix and other streamers start showing the show now, they could easily catch up.

Don’t think I’m only bringing up Bayonetta because it’s my favorite game series. Her inclusion here was partially inspired by her Netflix announcement of her Devil May Cry animated series. Hideki Kamiya’s The Worst Witch in History comes from the same world as Dante and is filled with similarly diabolical story ideas.

What immediately comes to mind is the war between the Witches of Umbra and the Sages of Lumen, which began with Bayonetta’s own birth. This allows showrunners to include strong characters other than the titular protagonist while maintaining the most interesting visuals and aesthetics of the game.

world of warcraft

There are countless fantasy game series out there, and any of them would probably make a decent show. However, to maximize brand awareness, Netflix recommends choosing Warcraft, its most iconic work. Not only does the game have a unique art style suitable for an animated show, but it also has several years worth of stories that allow you to draw your own plot.

Hollywood is already tapping into this vein with live-action movies. The movie wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t do enough to capture the beauty and atmosphere of the game. An animated show could have done a better job and told the story of the events leading up to Thrall’s birth from the same era as the movie.

Perhaps a sci-fi show would be a nice change of pace while you explore different genres. There are many sci-fi games that would make great shows, including Metroid, Titanfall, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Portal. However, to keep things simple, we’ll focus on one of his easiest games to pull material from: Mass Effect. Having so much lore in the game means there are several potential avenues the showrunners could explore regardless of Commander Shepard.

Given the galaxy’s hundreds of years of history, Netflix could potentially tell the story of Humanity’s First Contact War, the Krogan Rebellion, or even the fall of the Protheans. With so many alien races and cultures appearing as characters in the story, there is no limit to how wide the scope of the show can be. There are rumors that Amazon Studios is currently working on a Mass Effect show, but not many details have been revealed.

red dead redemption

Let’s step away from the surreal and fantastical for a moment. Nothing beats a classic western TV show. And there hasn’t been a show like that for a while. The Red Dead Redemption series is a slice of retro Americana, depicting the grim life of a crime-ridden western frontier and what you must become to survive. The Red Dead Redemption series has the right blend of Western flavor to turn into a great TV show, especially if the showrunners are willing to weave in some bits of American history. .

Arthur Morgan’s story is also told in Red Dead Redemption 2 (and brilliantly so), but it still could be good story material. However, one avenue for him that the fictional show could explore is Vanderlinde’s origins in his gang. The first point of the game is set after they have all been traveling together for years. The story of how Dutch and Hosea saved so many lost souls would make a great atmospheric western.
