Amrish Puri passed away on January 12, 2005 due to cerebral hemorrhage, at the age of 72.
Google honoured renowned Bollywood actor Amrish Puri on his 87th birth anniversary today, on June 22, 2019, with a doodle, which celebrates the life and legacy of the actor.
He born in Punjab in 1932, Puri landed his first role in a movie at the age of 39. He also moved on to work in theatre as a voice-over artist. Puri made his Bollywood debut in 1971 film ‘Reshma Aur Shera’. After a decade, he played the role of Khan, a supporting character in the Oscar-winning film ‘Gandhi’.
Google doodle: Amrish Puri has worked in more than 400 films in over half a dozen languages, some are here like Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil as well.
