Freaky Friday 2 Filming Nears End With Lindsay Lohan
Jamie Lee Curtis got emotional as filming for “Freaky Friday 2” neared its conclusion.
The Oscar-winning actress took to Instagram on Freaky Friday 2 to share that she only has a few days left to film alongside her “perfect movie daughter,” Lindsay Lohan, before production wraps on the Disney sequel, which is scheduled for release in 2025.
“Last Friday of this Freaky Friday 2, or should I call it crying day?” Curtis wrote. “We still have a few days left next week, but it’s coming to an end. This morning, as I arrived on set and looked out at the hundreds of people gathered to make this movie for the fans, filming in California, I’m especially grateful for my incomparable daughter, @lindsaylohan, without whom we could never have made this movie. Ever.”
Curtis also shared that Lohan gifted her a @suziekondi shirt after Curtis complimented it. “I’m wearing it today in her honor. Heading to work, putting on my wig. Thank you for all the love @disneyd23! It’s been legendary!” she added.
In “Freaky Friday 2,” Curtis and Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna, more than two decades after they first swapped bodies in the beloved 2003 film. This time, Anna has a daughter and a new husband. As they face the challenges of blending two families, the mother-daughter duo discovers that lightning can indeed strike twice.
Earlier this month at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Curtis and Lohan revealed the title of the sequel. Curtis described the upcoming film as a “love letter to mothers and daughters,” while Lohan added, “It’s beautiful to see three generations in this movie. Anna looks to Tess for advice, but Tess still wants to step in and give her own. Anna becomes a bit like Tess… That’s what happens in life. You always become a little bit like your mom!”
The sequel will also see the return of Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon, with Manny Jacinto joining the cast.
