Alaya F’s mother, Pooja Bedi, has starred in films like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Lootere and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee (1993), but the young actress was only allowed to watch one of them while growing up. Alaya says, “My mother only allowed me to watch one film she was in – Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. She was so embarrassed about the films she was in that she didn’t let me watch any other films (laughs). On my mother’s birthday, I found footage of her other films and she was so embarrassed that we all laughed.”

Alaya, who made her debut with Jawaani Jaaneman (2020) and has appeared in films like Srikanth, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Freddy, says her mother loves watching her on screen. She says, “My mother has loved all my work so far. The moment she sees me on screen, she bursts into tears. I look at my mother because I know how much she tries to contain and control her emotions when I am about to appear on screen. She has seen my films many more times than I have. In fact, she watched my debut film Jawaani Jaaneman 12 times because she used to take different groups of people to watch it at the theatre.”
