Mr and Mrs Mahi box office collection day 3: Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s film maintained a steady momentum throughout the weekend, raking in Rs 168.5 crore in domestic gross.
This is Rajkummar Rao’s second collaboration with Janhvi Kapoor after Roohi. “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” seems to be on track to collect Rs 168.5 crore at the box office in its opening weekend. The film has received generally positive reviews and exceeded expectations on its opening day, which was also celebrated as Cinephile Day. According to initial estimates from Sakhnilk, it has collected Rs 55 crore on Sunday, taking its domestic total to Rs 168.5 crore.
Box office collection of Mahi and Mrs. The film got a lot of promotion on Friday as it was released on Movie Lovers’ Day. Ticket prices were reduced to Rs 99. The film’s box office collection exceeded expectations at Rs 6.75 crore on Friday, before plummeting 32% to Rs 4.6 crore on Saturday, but recovered to Rs 5.50 crore on Sunday.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film will have to maintain its pace at the box office to recoup its estimated production costs of Rs 400 crore. It has been a generally disappointing year for Bollywood, with only a handful of films grossing over Rs 100 crore and even fewer actually making a profit.
The film recorded an overall Hindi attendance of 22.24 percent on Sunday and the highest attendance of 32.27 percent at night screenings. The film was screened in as many as 764 screens in the NCR region, registering an overall attendance of 21.25 percent. This was followed by Mumbai, where the film recorded an attendance of 22.25 percent from 585 screenings.
Director Rajkumar Rao’s previous film “Srikanth” was released on May 10 and is still running in theatres. “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” has outdone “Srikanth” at the box office, with “Srikanth” earning Rs 117 crore in the first three days of its release, beating “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’s” Rs 168.5 crore.
“Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” is about a couple who are passionate about cricket. Intrigued by the wife’s natural talent, the couple start cricket training. The film is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by T-Series and Chalk and Cheese Films. The film also stars Alaya Furniturewala, Jyothika and Sharad Kelkar in important roles.
