Indian 2 is finally ready for release. The makers of the much-awaited vigilante film starring the superstar Kamal Haasan Jonathan Shankar, producer of Shankar’s film Indian 2, held the film’s audio release event in Chennai on Saturday.The mega event was well attended by industry figures including actors. Anirudh Ravichandran has replaced AR Rahman, who composed the music for the original 1996 film, for Indian 2. The album was released online earlier in the day.
The film is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. The official handle of Lyca Productions took to X to share some glimpses from the event and the red carpet.

“Indian 2” will see Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights corruption. The film also stars Siddharth, SJ Suriyar, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh.
After multiple delays, “Indian 2” is finally scheduled to release on July 12. The third film, “Indian 3”, is aiming for a theatrical release in 2025.
