Whoopi Goldberg joined Tony Goldwyn’s film “Ezra” without reading the script
Whoopi Goldberg accepted her role in Tony Goldwyn’s film Ezra Without reading the script. The two actors have known each other since they co-starred in the 1990s ghost.

“The vibe of the movie was like, ‘Yes, I want to be a part of this,’” Goldberg said this week when Goldwyn first asked her about it. “People don’t usually ask me. So, when someone says, ‘Hey, do you want to come play?'” it’s like, Yes!
Goldwyn spoke about how he cast his friend in the project, saying, “I just emailed. Me and Bobby were talking when the movie started together, and we said, ‘You know who would be great… Whoopi.'” I just emailed Whoopi. He says, “Hey, I’m doing this movie with Bobby and Bob De Niro. There’s this part that you’d be perfect for. Can I send you the script?” Don’t you want to read the script? She was like, ‘No, I’m there. Just tell me where to go!'”
