Imran Khan reacts to reports that he got addicted to drugs during his film hiatus: ‘It worried me’ | Hindi Film News
Actor Imran Khan has been away from the silver screen for some time now and has remained out of the limelight with neither public appearances nor an active presence on social media. After much interest among his fans, Imran recently made a comeback on Instagram. His absence has created quite a stir, with several rumours surrounding his life and appearance coming into the limelight.
In a recent interview with India Today, Imran was asked about the adverse rumours that were circulating about his appearance when he was off social media, to which he said, “Even if you are not on social media, they are still traditional media. I buy newspapers at home. My mother, aunties and the generation that still buys newspapers at home will feel uncomfortable seeing those images.”
He further opened up about the impact the rumours had on him and his family: “They would see pictures, captions and news that suggested I was taking drugs or something. It was worrying. It was complicated to have a discussion with my parents and family and say, ‘I can’t stand what they say and do.’ People say these things without thinking and without considering how it will be received,” he added.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan is gearing up to make a comeback to Bollywood after a nine-year hiatus, which will mark a major milestone in his career. Imran revealed that he is in discussions with writers, directors and producers for projects. He said, “I am trying to find something that really inspires me. As of now, I think there are two stories that really resonate with me. I am developing them with directors but I am nowhere near a complete project yet. So, I don’t have any formal films signed yet or shows that I have signed and committed to do.”
Imran Khan’s fans are eagerly awaiting his return after a long hiatus. The actor was last seen in the 2015 film ‘Katti Batti’ opposite Kangana Ranaut.
