The Lust Stories 2 actress had a heartfelt message for audiences and the industry to invest in local storytellers: “If we’re so proud, let’s throw ourselves a little bit into this game,” she said, arguing for a shift from mere celebration to active support.

Actress and singer Saba Azad supported Shoam’s stance, highlighting the need to support independent films and filmmakers financially and urging audiences to prioritise “real talent” over big name names. “There is Indian cinema that deserves our attention and support and it shines all over the world!! Let’s give it the respect it deserves back home,” Azad wrote.
