“It doesn’t matter whether she wins an Oscar or not,” says Lily Gladstone.
Lily Gladstone speaks candidly about the reaction to her Oscar loss once she returns home to the Blackfeet Nation after a busy awards season with Moonflower Killers.

The actress recalled. “This is what award campaigns are all about and the competitive nature of putting art against art. Clearly this film, in this moment, made sense. She did her job.”
She continued: “Yes, no one was upset that it didn’t happen. I feel like when the Golden Globes happened (Gladstone won Best Actress), a lot of people very far from the industry thought it was the Oscars. It has to do with the fact that (the film ) has won an award and it’s historic, and it’s still just a really meaningful moment so it doesn’t matter whether I go home with this statue in my hand or not.
Gladstone added that “no matter how things go, she’s lucky that she has work coming in and I have work ready,” including some of her recent projects, Fantasy dance And Memory police.
Despite her Oscar loss, the actress took to social media after the 2024 Academy Awards to express her gratitude for fans’ support throughout awards season.
“Feeling so much love today, especially from rural India. Gladstone also shared her reaction to Scott George and the Osage Singers taking the stage at the Academy Awards, where “Wahzhazhe (Song for My People)” was nominated for Best Original Song.
“Watching the Osage Singers at the Oscars, my inner voice said, ‘They’re the ones taking all of us on stage tonight, that’s how it should be,’” she wrote. “The history in the film and the moment truly belongs to the Osage Nation. What an honor to be close enough to feel the drum.
