Vidya Balan Pratik Gandhi and Pratik Gandhi, who are eagerly awaiting the release of their new film Do Aur Do Pyaar, graced the inaugural session of the Indian Express Expresso series on Friday. Both Vidya and Pratik have built successful careers in the film industry despite having no family connections in Bollywood. During the interaction, Vidya spoke about the long-standing debate over nepotism and expressed her indifference towards it.

Vidya said, “I don’t know how to answer this question because I’m not here for nepotism or nepotism. Kissi ki baap ki industry nahi hai, nahi toh, har baap ka beta, har baap ki beti successful hotel (The film industry does not belong to anyone’s father, otherwise all the star children would be successful).

She added: “I feel like I was just a lone ranger. Sometimes I felt like if I had certain people protecting me, maybe people would have been a little more kind, but in terms of opportunities, no one could have had my share.” I don’t think I could deny that. So I feel like it doesn’t really matter.”
