Konkani and Hindi web series announced

Goan film production company Ocean Drops Studio launched production of their Konkani and Hindi Goa-based web series and maiden projects ‘Poison Bottle’ and ‘Friends’ on April 10 afternoon at Muhurti (Auspicious Time) Goan Entertainment Society, Panaji.

In attendance were VP, Head of Short Form and New Content Initiatives, Disney Hotstar Rahul Sarangi, singer Hemaa Sardesai, along with the cast and crew of ‘Poison Bottle’ and ‘Friends’. The cast of the series includes Sainath Sawant, Shruti Kadam. , Sanchi Pires, Sonia Raikar, Rahil Malgaokar, Shraddha Sawant, Mikhail Raltson, Grokshanatha Sawant, Swapnil Vernekar and Atish Gawand.

The actors are from Goa and are studying at an acting workshop held at ESG under Ocean Drops Media and Films Pvt. Ltd.’s two productions showcase new faces and some with experience. “There is a lot of talent in Goa and they have to go outside the state for exposure. So we decided to train them here and take them into the mainstream,” said creative head Oceans Drops Studio Naresh Shetti.

The series will have seven to nine episodes with stories based in Goa, with most of the shooting taking place in Goa. The series has many genres, from crime and suspense to love stories.

“Web series are in high demand and this is an easier way to market talent,” Shetty said, adding that the series will be on OTT platforms.
